Our Openshaw Community Yoga sessions support physical and mental well-being through gentle movement and relaxation. Participants also learn how to continue yoga at home, helping them stay active, reduce stress, and improve overall health in a welcoming community space.
Our Alliance Yoga for 50+ promotes well-being, balance, and strength. Alongside gentle yoga, we raise awareness on healthy eating, staying active indoors, and safe movement on slippery floors during winter and beyond. This initiative helps older adults stay fit, confident, and independent all year round.
Our Christmas Clothes Outreach, funded by Manchester City Council in partnership with Giving World, was a great success. We provided warm clothing for mothers and babies, ensuring families had essential items during the festive season.
Alongside clothing, we also distributed culturally dried food items, helping families enjoy familiar and nourishing meals. This initiative brought hope, support, and relief to many, making a real difference in our community.
The Golden Yoga Class is a welcoming space for learning, confidence, and connection. With support from Step Up Manchester, it helps reduce isolation, promotes inclusion, and encourages creativity.
Through gentle movement and mindfulness, participants improve their well-being while celebrating diverse talents and building stronger community bonds. This initiative fosters self-expression, cultural appreciation, and meaningful connections, making a positive impact on both individuals and the community.

Through this initiative, we offer training in:
Sewing and fashion design – Teaching participants how to create and repair clothing, can help them save money or even start their own business.
Hairdressing – Giving individuals the skills to style and maintain hair professionally or for personal use.
Computer training – Helping people improve their digital skills, which are essential for employment and everyday life.
Mental health and well-being mentorship – Providing guidance and support to help individuals manage stress, anxiety, and overall well-being.
This project is designed to empower people, helping them become more self-sufficient, build confidence, and reduce financial pressures by learning skills they can use daily or turn into income opportunities. We are committed to bringing the community together and ensuring everyone has access to the support they need.
We thank GMCVO for their support in making this project possible and look forward to seeing the positive impact it has on the lives of our participants.
